EU–Ukraine Association Agreement will come into force on September 01, 2017 — Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko reminded that on September 01, 2017 the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement will come into force.

He said this during a working visit to Lviv Oblast, Ukrinform writes.

“This year, on September 01, 2017, we will have a holiday not only because children will start their academic year, but also because that day the key political document for our state comes into force,” he said.

Furthermore, he stressed that the signing of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement as well as the adoption of a visa-free regime — it is not just the recognition of Ukrainian reforms, but the final “farewell to the Soviet Russian Empire”.

For reference, the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement was signed in 2014. It is also partially came into force in 2014. During 2014-2017, the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement was ratified by the Verkhovna Rada, the European Parliament as well as national parliaments of all EU Member States.
