Strategic sessions were held to prepare a National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, Security for the period up to 2025

From 06 to 16 July 2020, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine held a number of strategic sessions in the format of ZOOM video conferences. The events were organized in order to prepare a National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, Security for the period up to 2025. The sessions were held jointly with the SURGe project and the UN Women in Ukraine.

The first of the strategic sessions was devoted to the analysis of problems and coordination of the goals of the top level of the National Action Plan. The list of beneficiaries, the problem tree and theobjective and strategic goals of the Plan for 5 years were identified.

Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for Gender Equality Policy, representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the UN Women in Ukraine project and the SURGe project (session facilitators), representatives of central executive authorities, regional public administrations and public organizations joined the strategic sessions.

From Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union NAUCS, Liudmyla Mykhalyk, Deputy Head of the Organizational and Methodological Work Department, took part in the session on the development of the National Action Plan for the strategic goal of institutional capacity.

The participants analyzed new challenges and main problems in the implementation of the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, Security for the period up to 2020 and developed strategic and operational goals, objectives and tools for Ukraine`s implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, Security, according to which the National Action Plan until 2025 will be developed.
