On May 21, 2014 at the premises of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (hereinafter – the NAUCS) the working meeting of the Head of the National agency of Ukraine on Civil Service Denys Brodskyi with the Director of NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine Marcin Koziel was held.
The goal of the meeting was to discuss directions of cooperation between the NAUCS and NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine as well as consider the issue of coopeartion activization regarding implementation of NATO - Ukraine Programme for the professional development of the civilian personnel of the sector of security and defense (hereinafter – the Programme).
During the meeting the main tasks and achievements of the Programme were reported by the representatives of NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine. Furthermore the practical ways of cooperation between the Programme and the NAUCS as well as future priorities were discussed. The issue of strengthening the role of the NAUCS as the national coordinator of the Programme above mentioned was considered during the meeting.
According to the results of the meeting it was agreed to create the Working group on the Programme implementation, to update the Action Plan of the Programme for 2014 and to start practical preparation for implementation of the Course of Defense and Security for the Leading Personnel of Government Authorities of Ukraine within the framework of the Programme.
For reference: NATO - Ukraine Programme for the professional development of the civilian personnel of the sector of security and defense was founded in October, 2005 during the Consultation of high level between NATO and Ukraine (Vilnius, Lithuania). The Programme presupposes practical professional training as well as definite financial inputs from the member states of the Alliance. According to the resolution of the sixth meeting of the Commission on cooperation between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service was established as the national coordinator of the NATO – Ukraine Programme for the professional development of the civilian personnel of the sector of security and defense and the main performer of the actions regarding the realization of the NATO – Ukraine Programme for the professional development of the civilian personnel of the sector of security and defense.
