5th Steering Committee meeting of Twinning Project for National Bank of Ukraine

 On April 20, 2011 at the National Bank of Ukraine the 5th Steering Committee of Twinning Project "Strengthening NBU potential through the approximation to EU standards of central banking" was held. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the project implementation during the 5th quarter, covering the period from 22 December, 2010 till 21 March, 2011.

The meeting was opened by Deputy Project Leader from Ukraine – Board Member, Executive Director on Economic Issues of NBU Mr Igor Shumylo. Project Leader from EU Member State, Director of Center for Technical Cooperation among Central Banks of Deutsche Bundesbank Martin Pontzen (Germany) also came forward with his remarks. In their speeches Project Leaders stressed on the success of this project and highlighted key issues that must be taken into account when carrying out the project during the last implementation period.

Arthur Radomski, Resident Twinning Adviser, informed about the results of winning project realization during the reported period, as well as made an overview of events that are scheduled for the 6th quarter. 
  
The participants of the event were also Mariush Stankovski, Junior Project Leader (Poland), Serhiy Kruglyk, RTA Counterpart, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the NBU, Liudmyla Labur, Head of the unit for European  integration and cooperation with inrternational organisations of the NBU, Vitalia Mudruk, ECD Project Manager, Twinning project coordinator, Head of Sector for International Cooperation Projects of  Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service the Standards of the European Union Nadiia Kyzytska  and others.

The next Steering Committee meeting is going to be held in July 2011.
