The 43rd session of OECD Public Governance Committee has started

 On April 14, 2011, the 43rd session of OECD Public Governance Committee has started. Ukraine participates in it in the status of a permanent observer. Ukrainian Main Civil Service Department is responsible for cooperation with the abovementioned Committee.

  Natalia Kyrychenko, Deputy Director of Center for Adaptation of Civil Service to the European Union Standards, represents Ukraine at the session. The event is conducted for the purpose of realization of Plan for implementation of Roadmap for Cooperation with OECD for 2011-2014.
 During the first day of the session there was held a Briefing on the OECD Governance and
 Development Framework, also the participants discussed the topics like “Integrity in Governments: Review of US Federal Public Procurement” and “Public Governance in Russia:
 Discussion of the Accession Report”.
 Reference: OECD Public Governance Committee (PGC OECD) is a recognized worldwide platform for exchange of best practices in public administration. Participation in its work gives many advantages to OECD participants and non-participants (particularly, Ukraine), for example:
 ·         it helps to identify and address current strategic issues faced by governments, in particular, to increase confidence in public institutions and use effective approaches while addressing the challenges faced by governments;

·         it assists in conducting balanced and effective public policy, increases transparency, quality and efficiency in the functioning of public institutions and services;

·         it extends the best elements of good governance and contributes to improving of efficiency, transparency, responsibility and accountability of government institutions.

The visit will last until April 15.
