The sitting was held under chairmanship of the Head of the Ukrainian part of the Joint Committee at Senior Officials level Vadym Triukhan. European part chairmanship was represented byHead of Unit, Directorate -General for Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus and Central Asia of External Relations Directorate General Gunnar Wiegand.
The representatives from the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and other executive authorities participated the video conference. Serhiy Kucheruk, Director of Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union and Olena Cherniy, Head of Twinning and SIGMA Instruments Coordination Unit also took part in the event.
During the videoconference key priorities of cooperation between Ukraine and EU were discussed, in particular issues on ratification of the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with the regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data, gas legislation, Euro-2012, public purchases and the visit of the EU Commissioner, DG enlargement Stefan Fule to Ukraine. Mr. Triukhan informed about progress of implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agenda. In its turn European side stressed on the necessity of strategical approach to initiation of Twinning and TAIEX institutional building instruments and corresponding events in the framework of above mentioned instruments holding.
