Meeting with Belarussian Delegation on Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA issues

On April 12, 2010 meeting between representatives of Twinning Programme Administration Office (PAO) and Belarusian delegation: Leonid Orlov, Executive Director of the Tacis Coordinating Unit of the Belarus, Boris Smolin, Team Leader of the EU TANCU project of the Belarus was held.

The meeting was initiated by Belorussian side with the aim to discuss issues on Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA implementation in Ukraine.

In her speech Nataliya Kyrychenko, Deputy Director of PAO welcomed representatives of the Belarussian delegation. Head of the Twinning and SIGMA Instruments Coordination Unit Olena Cherniy, Acting Head of the TAIEX Issues Sector Svitlana Repik and Acting Head of the Sector for Monitoring of Institutional Instruments informed foreign colleagues about main achievements and experience of the Twinning and TAIEX implementation in Ukraine.

The Tacis National Coordinating Unit (NCU) in Belarus was established in 1992 by TACIS National Programme in Belarus. The NCU implement the policy of EU technical assistance in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

Up to now Twinning Programme is not used in Belarus. TAIEX programme has been implemented in Belarus since 2008.
