The Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union was founded with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated on April 14, 2004 № 485 in order to provide information analysis, expert and organizational support to public administration, institutional capacity building of the civil service in Ukraine as well as its adaptation to the standards of the European Union.
According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated on June 4, 2008 № 528, taking into consideration the performance of the institution the mandate of the Center was broadened and its activity was more accurate directed to the European integration of Ukraine. All the amendments were reflected in the updated functions, duties and in the organization name.
Among the key targets of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union is enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the area of civil service and public administration, improvement of coordination mechanism of institutional support to their adaptation to the standards of the EU, in particular through effective implementation of the EU institutional building instruments Twinning, TAIEX, SIGMA in Ukraine, professional development of civil servants as well as improvement of information provision to the public regarding the issues on European integration.
