Seminar for representatives of the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw, Poland) on “Reforming Ukraine: Public Administration, Business and Civil Society Organizations” was held

On September 25, 2018 at the premises of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service a seminar for representatives of the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw, Poland) on “Reforming Ukraine: Public Administration, Business and Civil Society Organizations” took place.

The seminar was organized due to the initiative of the College of Europe jointly with the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union in order to provide students and professors of the College of Europe with the essential information on the main outcomes of socio-economic and public administration reforms implementation in Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity, as well as defining the role of civil society in the process of implementing reforms.

First Deputy Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service Volodymyr KUPRII in his welcome speech outlined the main achievements and priorities of civil service reform in Ukraine. The speech was also delivered by the Research Fellow of the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair of the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw, Poland) Andriy TYUSHKA, who emphasized that such events facilitate the exchange of the best experience and efficient partnership networking.

During the panel discussion “Reforming Ukraine after Revolution of Dignity: Socio-Economic and Public Administration Dimensions, the Role of Civil Society in Advancing the Reform Agenda” Head of the Senior Civil Service Commission, Head of the Sector “Public Administration Reform” of the Reform Support Office Serhii SOROKA presented the methods of involving non-governmental organizations and experts in the civil service and public administration reform.

Senior Project Manager on Public Administration Reform, Reforms Delivery Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Ivan KHILOBOK during his speech presented to the participants directions of public administration reform and a new model of civil service in Ukraine that is built on the best European models of good governance. Furthermore, Investigator of Business Ombudsman Council Oleh KRYKAVSKYY outlined the main tasks of the Council as an element of openness between business and the government aimed at fostering the fight against corruption and enhancing the investment attractiveness of Ukraine, as well as ensuring greater transparency in business.
