On April 3 – 4, 2019 a module on ensuring equal rights and opportunities of women and men in the security and defence sector was held within the framework of modular training course on topical issues of state policy of Euro-Atlantic integration “100 Champions”. The event was organized by the NATO – Ukraine Programme for Professional Development of Civilian Personnel in Security and Defence Sector of Ukraine jointly with the Government Office for the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
During the two-day module, the participants had the opportunity to increase knowledge on current status of implementation of state policy in area of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the security and defense sector, to discuss urgent issues and challenges regarding the implementation of the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Safety”, as well as to get acquainted with the best European experience on gender mainstreaming, in particular on integrating the anti-discrimination approach and the gender equality principle in the activities of state authorities.
Representatives of state executive authorities and other state bodies dealing with the issues of Ukraine - NATO cooperation, as well as national and international experts on gender equality issues attended the event.
On behalf of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union, Senior Consultant of the International Cooperation Division of Projects Management Unit of Anatolii Sopilka took part in the module.

100 Champions Programme is a training course consisting of distinct modules and it is implemented under the NATO–Ukraine Programme for Professional Development of Civilian Personnel in the Security and Defence Sector.
The course is aimed at professional development of civilian personnel of government authorities responsible for Euro-Atlantic integration, which involves gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for the successful preparation and implementation of Annual National Programmes and other strategic documents in the sphere of Euro-Atlantic integration.
