On November 2, 2020, the meeting of the Commission for Coordination of Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olga STEFANISHINA was held in the format of an online conference.
During the online meeting, the Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (NAUCS) Nataliia ALIUSHYNA informed the participants about the results of the functional survey on the existing institutional capacity of the public authorities in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration and the state of curriculum development of Euro-Atlantic integration.
In particular, information was provided on the structural capacity and staffing of authorities and their structures, the need to improve the internal staffing system of their activities, as well as the needs for professional training of employees in the implementation of the state policy of Euro-Atlantic integration.
In addition, a draft Model Regulation on the Euro-Atlantic Integration Unit was prepared for central executive authorities and other public authorities involved in the development, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of annual national programs under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.
For reference: The Commission for Coordination of Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine (hereinafter - the Commission) is a subsidiary body of the President of Ukraine, the composition of which was approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of September 1, 2020 No 370/2020.
The main goals of the Commission:
- promotion of the coordinated implementation by the central executive authorities, other state authorities of measures in the framework of the implementation of the strategic course of the state for Ukraine's membership in NATO;
- monitoring, analysis and assessment of the state of activities related to the implementation of tasks in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine and cooperation with NATO;
- preparation and submission of proposals to the President of Ukraine on the development of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO in the prescribed manner.
The NAUCS has been designated the National Coordinator for Ukraine's Cooperation with NATO in the Field of Professional Development.
