On 30 June 2021, the online meeting of Twinning and TAIEX national contact points (NCPs) “Twinning beyond 2020” was held to discuss recommendations for reforming the Twining institution building tool.

Ms. Diana Jablonska, Chair of the meeting  and Director of the Institution Building, Twinning and TAIEX Unit at Directorate C for Eastern Partnership and Institution Building opened the event. In her speech, Ms. Jablonska thanked all the stakeholders for the proposed changes to the procedure for preparation and implementation of Twinning contracts. She also admitted that the European Commission is constantly working on simplification of the relevant procedures while preserving the basic Twinning principles.

Among other things, Twinning and TAIEX Coordination Team presented to the participants Twinning and TAIEX rolling work plans, as well as informed about the main trends in the Twinning instrument, including expanding the geographical boundaries of its implementation and soonest adoption of the Grant model agreement. The latter will, among other, regulate the application of digital signature in the framework of Twinning projects. The EC plans to conduct relevant trainings of the NCPs on the use of the updated Twinning manual in the first half of 2022.

On behalf of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to European Union Standards, the Head of the TAIEX Coordination Sector of the Twinning Program Administration Office - Pidgorna Anastasia and the Chief Consultant of the Twinning Coordination Department of the Program Administrative Office - Musiienko Tetiana attended the meeting.
