Three-day Polish-Ukrainian seminar 'Strengthening of Institutions in the Implementation of Projects' was held at the premises of the MDCSU

A three-day seminar entitled 'Strengthening of Institutions in the Implementation of Projects' was held on October 14-16, 2009. Its mission was to present Poland’s experience in coordinating European Union (EU) technical assistance. Covering the programming, implementation, monitoring and evaluation aspects of projects, the seminar also focused on Poland’s experience using the Twinning institutional building tool (day two) during the pre-accession period to the EU.


The seminar was organized as a part of the Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation Programme, 'Support to Sectoral Reforms in Ukraine II.'
 

Andriy Vyshnevsky, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Civil Service of Ukraine, gave a welcome speech emphasising the importance of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation, in particular to the continued prospect of Ukraine’s Euro-integration aspirations.


In his welcoming speech, Vadym Triukhan, the Director of the Coordination Bureau of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, underscored the interest shown by his Polish colleagues to understand Ukraine’s efforts in integrating with EU institutions and structures.


The seminar is being attended by representatives of Ukrainian public administrations working in the field of European integration. A team of Polish experts are on hand to facilitate interactive trainings and discussions on the above mentioned topics including the European Commission’s decentralised system of managing technical assistance programmes.


The event is being organised by the Twinning Programme Administration Office (Ukraine) and the Office of the Committee for European Integration of Poland, Office of Technical Assistance for Ukraine with financial support from the EU-funded Implementation of Twinning Operations in Ukraine project.
