On October 14, 2013 at the premises of the State Space Agency of Ukraine (SSAU) the official opening of the Twinning Project “Institutional Capacity Strengthening of the SSAU regarding Realization of the European Space Programmes in the Area of Satellite Navigation (EGNOS/ Galileo) and Remote Sensing of the Earth (GMES)” took place. The Project will be implemented in cooperation with the National Institute of Aerospace Technology of Spain (INTA).

During the meeting the Deputy Head of the SSAU, the Project Leader from Ukraine Serhiy Zasuha greeted all the participants in his welcome speech. The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Jan Tombinski and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain Jose Rodrigues Moyano in their welcome speeches underlined the importance of Ukraine-Spain interrelation building within the space area.

Iryna Luchynska, the Deputy Director of the Twinning Programme Administration Office presented key principles and achievements of the Twinning instrument in Ukraine and defined practical moments that are necessary for successful project realization.

For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine»  the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the NAUCS is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant legal acts.
