On October 21, 2014 at the premises the State Space Agency of Ukraine the fourth steering committee meeting for the Twinning Project “Strengthening of the State Space Agency’s of Ukraine (SSAU) Institutional Capacity to Implement European Space Programmes in Satellite Navigation (EGNOS/ Galileo) and remote Sensing (GMES)” was held.
The Project supports the SSAU with the effective implementation of the European Space Programmes in Ukraine, in particular in the area of Satellite Navigation (EGNOS/ Galileo), remote Sensing (GMES) and the "Horizon – 2020".
Acting Project Leader from Ukraine Yevhen Mahonin highlighted the collaboration of European and Ukrainian experts, particularly with regards to the draft laws of Ukraine on State Regulation in satellite navigation and in remote sensing aerospace agencies. During the meeting the RTA Jose Ortuno Fernandez presented basic information about the events that took place within the project during June – September, 2014. The Project Leader from the Kingdom of Spain Manuel Mulero Valenzuela emphasized the plans for the next reporting period. In addition, all the participants of the meeting agreed on the date for the next meeting of the Project Steering Committee.
The RTA Mykola Demydenko, representatives of the SSAU and the Sector Manager on Transport of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Svetlana Didkivska took part in the meeting.
The Head of the Twinning Coordination Division of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Yan Yakushchenko took part in the event.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument.
