During the meeting the Project Leaders Viktor Merkulov and Carlo Crea welcomed all the participants. It was reported that during the second quarter the project had been implemented according to all of its components. In particular, within the framework of the legislature component the comparative table of gas legislation of the EU and Ukraine was finished. Some distinctive features together with the need for adaptation were set in it. The process of studying English for employees of the NERC is successful, due to this opportunity many work groups within the Twinning project are conducted in English without simultaneous translation. European experts estimated the monitoring of the services quality which are provided by gas distribution companies.
Representatives of the NERC also noted the high level of involvement of bodies which provide services delivering for project implementation. Several work groups took place with the participation of representatives of gas distribution companies within the framework of the component of quality managemnent. Except the project partners some representatives of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and Twinning Administration Office took part in the event.
The next steering committee meeting will be held on July 28, 2010.
