Deputy Head of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine Oleksandr Loschyhin came forward with the welcome word. During the workshop experts from the European Commission introduced European experience of statistic system in the executive bodies, existing procedures of judicial statistics system functioning, methodology of collecting data statistic in first instance courts (preparation, processing) in such EU countries as Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Italy and others.
Head of the Justice Statistics of Directorate-General for Justice Policy of Portuguese Ministry of Justice Maria Joao Morgado Costa introduced Hermes Project - the new Portuguese method of collecting data statistics in first instance courts .
The workshop was attended by 90 representatives of local courts of Ukraine, State Judicial Administration of Ukraine and its territorial divisions, international experts. Svitlana Repik, acting head of the sector on TAIEX issues and Alyona Andrienko, senior consultant of the sector on TAIEX issues took part in the workshop as representatives of the Twinning Programme Administration Office (PAO).
