CAF Excellence Recognition (CER) introductory training took place

On October 14–15, 2025, with the support and assistance of the GIZ implemented Regional Project “Public Administration Reform in the Eastern Partnership Countries III”  in commission of German Government (BMZ), Ms. Hanna Tretiachenko, First Deputy Director of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union  – Ukrainian National Resource Center CAF, took part in international training on excellence assessment using the CAF model in Brussels.

This opportunity has demonstrated Ukraine’s active integration into the European community in terms of quality management and public sector development in line with modern standards.

CAF Excellence Recognition (CER) introductory training was organized by the European CAF Resource Center at EIPA and BOSA – the Belgian Federal Public Service for Policy and Support, during which participants learned about the updated CER procedure, reviewed recognition levels, evaluation criteria, and practical aspects of applying new requirements in real cases.  

The trainers were Tihana Puzić, Head of the CAF European Resource Center, EIPA, Nick Thijs, Senior Policy Advisor, Team leader Service Delivery and Digital Government, OECD-SIGMA, and Isabelle Verschuren, CAF National Correspondent in Belgium, BOSA – Belgian Federal Public Service for Policy and Support.

The program included both theoretical sessions and interactive exercises, which allowed participants to practice applying the CER methodology in practice.

The event ended on October 16 with a visit to the municipality of Anderlecht, where examples of CAF integration into the internal control system and cybersecurity measures were presented.

CAF National Correspondents and external feedback experts participated in the training, including Hanna Tretiachenko, First Deputy Director of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union, from Ukraine.
