On April 22, 2014 at the premises of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine the conference on the closure of the Twinning project “Coordination and Development of Multimodal Transport and Logistic Processes in Ukraine” that had been implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy of the French Republic was held.
The main goal of the project above mentioned was enhancing competitive growth of the economy of Ukraine through development of sustainable and effective transport system.
The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine – the Head of the Apparatus Volodymyr Korniyenko in his welcome speech underlined the necessity of further improvement of the Twinning project performance. The First Counselor to the Ambassador, the Head of the Department of Economic Cooperation, Social and Regional Development of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine
Jose Roman Leon Lora admitted the importance of enhancing cooperation in the transport area between the EU and Ukraine in the context of recent signing of provisions of EU – Ukraine Association Agreement.
Ambassador of the French Republic in Ukraine Alen Remi expressed the willingness of the French Republic to facilitate cooperation with the Ukrainian partners.
Deputy Director of the Twinning Programme Administrative Office under the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service Anastasiya Terekh congratulated all the participants on the successful project closure and presented the main tendencies and achievements of the Twinning instrument in Ukraine.
Representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the ADETEF in Ukraine, the State Railways Administration of Ukraine “Ukrzaliznytsia”, Ukrainian State Center of Transport Service “Lisky” as well as representatives of international technical assistance and leading transport universities of Ukraine took part in the event.
Forreference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on October 6, 2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the NAUCS is considered to be the national coordinator of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant regulatory acts.
