On May 06, 2014 at the premises of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine the meeting on selection of the project proposals from the EU member-states who expressed their wish to cooperate with the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine (hereinafter – the MIU) in the process of the Twinning Project implementation “Support to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine in Improving the Safety of the Road Transport” was held. The Project implementation presupposes improving the safety of the road transport in accordance with the technical requirements of the European Union and reducing the number of road accidents in Ukraine.

During the meeting some proposals regarding prospective cooperation within the framework of the Twinning project which had been received from the consortium of the countries including the Polish Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Lithuanian Republic were reviewed.

The Head of the Twinning Coordination Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Yan Yakushchenko took part in the event.

For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on October 6, 2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the NAUCS is considered to be the national coordinator of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant regulatory acts.
