On June 16, 2014 the meeting of the steering committee of the Twinning Project “Support for Development of Social Services System in Ukraine”, with the beneficiary, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine involved, took place.

The main goal of the project is the approximation of the current legislation of Ukraine in the area of Social Services System to the European Union wide best standards and practices, in particular, special attention is paid to the criteria for evaluating the quality of social services and the elaboration of the model of social services delivery based on the close cooperation between the governmental and the non-governmental institutions.

During the meeting the state of the project realization for the reporting period was examined, particularly, the main achievements, action plans and priority tendencies of work for the next quarter were presented.

Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Beneficiary country Project Leader Natalia Phedorovych, Member state Project Leader Marie Keirle, Sector Manager of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Sergei Polyuk, Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA) Andriy Tretyak, Director of Social Services Department – RTA Counterpart Irina Tarabukina as well as other representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy took part in the event.

The Senior Consultant of the Projects Management Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Olga Denysiuk attended the steering committee meeting.

For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated October 06, 2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (hereinafter – the NAUCS) is the coordinator of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine. Furthermore, the NAUCS is the coordinator of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant regulatory acts.
