On June 16 – 20, 2014 within the framework of the European Union Project “Preparing staff for the European Union – European Neighborhood Policy related jobs” representatives of 16 countries of the European Neighborhood Policy (hereinafter – the ENP) attended the College of Europe in Bruges (the Kingdom of Belgium).
The goal of the event was to study the context of the ENP, institutions of the European Union and the new instrument of the European Neighborhood.
Within the framework of the event the following activities were conducted: two day training seminars regarding the issue of the ENP, the visit to Brussels in order to take part in the meetings with the officials of the European Commission and the two-day seminar for the trainers on the issues above mentioned.
Deputy Head of the Projects Management Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Serhiy Kopan took part in the event.
For reference: the European Union Project “Preparing staff for the European Union – European Neighborhood Policy related jobs” (hereinafter – the Project) was founded in order to enhance effectiveness of policy and relations between the European Union and the neighboring countries as well as providing assistance in strengthening political dialogue and cooperation between them.
The goal of the Project is to develop professional skills and improve knowledge of civil servants of relevant structures of the ENP partner countries in the area of cooperation with the European Union in particular with the ENP. It is to facilitate better understanding of the ENP as well as other relevant policies of the European Union.
The Project presupposes realization of the following activities:
- Preparation, organization and conducting of professional training seminars at the premises of the College of Europe (Bruges, the Kingdom of Belgium and Natalin, Poland);
- Assessment of needs in training of every beneficiary country;
- Review of similar educational activities in the region.
The targeted audience of the Project involves civil servants of 16 ENP partner countries who are willing to improve or enhance their knowledge regarding the European Union and the ENP.
Algeria, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, the State of Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Republic of Moldova, the Kingdom of Morocco, Palestinian Autonomy, Syria, Tunis and Ukraine are the beneficiary countries of the Project.
