On July 2, 2014 at the premises of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine the joint meeting of the Subcommittee № 6 «Justice, Freedom and Security» of the Committee on cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union took place.
Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Anton Yanchuk presented his welcome address.
The issue of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the area of justice, freedom and security, in particular regarding the equality of human rights and democracy, international cooperation in the area of human rights, corruption fighting and law-enforcement authorities reform were considered during the meeting.
European experts, representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine and other central executive authorities took part in the joint meeting.
The Deputy Head of the Resource Management, Operation and Development Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Anastasia Terekh attended the event.
For reference: Subcommittee № 6 «Justice, Freedom and Security» within the framework of the Committee on cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union was established in order to solve problems regarding relevant chapters of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union that touch upon the issue of fighting against organized and international crime, transborder cooperation in the area of justice, security and freedom, cross border management, migration, fight against money laundering and drug trade, preventing illegal activity, judicial reform and the rule of law.
