On July 01, 2014 Deputy Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service Oleksandr Skopych took part in the steering committee meeting of the NATO–Ukraine Programme for the professional development of the civilian personnel of the sector of security and defense (hereinafter – NATO–Ukraine Programme) under the authority of the Joint Working Group on Defense Reform (Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium).
During the meeting Oleksandr Skopych made a speech in which the main outcomes of NATO–Ukraine Programme implementation for 2013 – 2014 were presented. Moreover the key objectives and priority directions of future activities within the framework of NATO-Ukraine Programme were outlined.
It worth mentioning that participation in the steering committee meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Programme is to strengthen cooperation between the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service and NATO–Ukraine Programme as well as enhance partnership with representatives of NATO member states.
For reference: NATO–Ukraine Programme for the professional development of the civilian personnel of the sector of security and defense was founded in October, 2005 during the Consultation of high level between NATO and Ukraine (Vilnius, Lithuania). NATO–Ukraine Programme presupposes practical professional training as well as definite financial inputs from the member states of the Alliance. According to the resolution of the sixth meeting of the Commission on cooperation between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service was established as the national coordinator and the main performer of the actions regarding the realization of NATO–Ukraine Programme.
