On July 22, 2014 in the premises of the State Space Agency of Ukraine the Steering Committee meeting of the Twinning Project «Strengthening of the institutional capacity of the State Space Agency of Ukraine on implementation of European space programs in the field of satellite navigation (EGNOS / Galileo) and remote sensing (GMES)» was held.
Project Leader on behalf of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Mr. Serhiy Zasukha in the welcoming speech to the meeting participants has emphasized the high importance of Twinning project in the context of the Association Agreement EU – Ukraine signing, as the project is an effective instrument for cooperation between the partner states in the space industry and in furtherance for participation of Ukraine in various projects within the program "Horizon 2020".
The participants of meeting have summed up the project activity for the last quarter (dated from 20 March to 19 July 2014) and examined the progress toward achieving of project mandatory results and defined the scope of activities scheduled for the next reporting period. In addition, participants agreed on a date for the next meeting of the Project Committee.
The Steering Committee meeting was held in the form of video conference, in which Spanish Project Leader Mr. Manuel Mulero Valenzuela, Deputy Project Leader Mr. Jose Manuel Gorostiaga Ugalde, RTA Mr. Jose Ortuno Fernandez and other members of the Spanish National Institute of Aerospace Technology have participated. The Ukrainian side was presented by the Project Leader Mr. Serhiy Zasukha, RTA Counterpart Mr. Mykola Demydenko and other representatives of the State Space Agency of Ukraine. Project Coordinator for transport sector of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Ms. Svitlana Didkivska also took part in this event.
On behalf of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union the meeting was attended by the Head of the Twinning Coordination Sector
Mr. Yan Yakuschenko and the chief spesialist of Twinning Coordination Sector
Mr. Artem Takhtarov.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated October 06, 2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (hereinafter – the NAUCS) is the coordinator of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine. Furthermore, the NAUCS is the coordinator of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant regulatory acts.
