On August 12, 2014 at the premises of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the steering committee meeting of the Twinning Project “Modernization of Legislative Standards and Principles of Education and Training in Line with the EU Policy in Lifelong Learning” was held.
Project Leader on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Polianskyi with the Project Leader on behalf of the consortium of the EU member-states Ms. Susanne Gottlieb in their joint welcome speech emphasized the importance of the Twinning project achievements for further adaptation of educational system of Ukraine to the standards of the EU and to the European Lifelong Learning Policy.
The participants of the meeting in the form of discussion summed up the project outcomes and conducted activity analysis for the last reporting quarter. Furthermore the participants approved the Work plan scheduled for the next reporting period, approved the Quarterly report and agreed on the date for the next meeting of the Project Committee.
Project Leader on behalf of the consortium of the EU member-states Ms. Susanne Gottlieb, Junior Project Leader Ms. Christiane Eberhard, Project Leader on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Polianskyi, Resident Twinning Advisor Mr. Jorgen Ole Larsen, Project Coordinator for education sector of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Ms. Vira Rybak took part in the steering committee meeting.
On behalf of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union the Deputy Head of the Resource Management, Operation and Development Unit Anastasia Terekh and the chief spesialist of the Twinning Coordination Division Artem Takhtarov attended the event.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated October 06, 2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (hereinafter – the NAUCS) is the coordinator of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine. Furthermore, the NAUCS is the coordinator of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant regulatory acts.
