On September 16, 2-14 at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine the interagency meeting on cooperation with the central executive authorities within the framework of Institutional Reforms Plan in the area of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement implementation was held.
During the meeting the structure, staffing, functional responsibilities, authority and main objectives of the Government Office for European Integration of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were presented.
The possibility of support and realization of some initiatives within the CIB Programme was considered. These initiatives envisage comprehensive support to establishment and functioning of the Government Office for European Integration from the EU, development and implementation of communication strategy regarding public awareness on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement implementation as well as enhancing the level of the civil servants’ professional competence on European integration.
The Head of the First Department of Assistance Programmes “Good Governance and Democratization” of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Aleksandru Albu, the Head of the Civil Service Reform Division of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Volodymyr Kondrachuk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on European Integration Olena Zerkal, Director of the Government Office for European Integration of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Natalia Hnydyuk and other representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine took part in the meeting.
The Head of the Projects Management Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Oksana Ishchuk attended the event.
For reference: the CIB Programme (Comprehensive Institution Building) is the part of the EU initiative "Eastern Partnership". The main objective of this Partnership is support to realization the institutional reforms of certain state institutions in order to create conditions for effective implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, including the creation of a free trade area. The plan of institutional reform for the purposes of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement Implementation was approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated on 10.10.2012 № 767-р “Some issues of institutional reforms in the implementation of the future Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union”.
