On December 5, 2014 at the premises of the Kyiv Regional State Administration the closure meeting for the Twinning Project “Support to the development of the social services system in Ukraine” was held. The Project is implemented in cooperation with the General Directorate for Social Cohesion (DGCS) of Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of the Republic of France and the Agency for the Development and Coordination of International Relations (ADECRI).
The purpose of this Project was to contribute to the reform of the system of Social Service Provision in accordance with the European standards and best practices.
Deputy Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service Oleksandr Skopych greeted all the participants of the event. He described the features of the Twinning instrument, thanks to which European practices are effectively implemented in the activities of Ukrainian institutions. Furthermore, it was noted that in 2014 the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service received in comparison with last year much more project proposals from government authorities in order to initiate new Twinning projects. This indicates the growth of interest on the approximation to EU standards. Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine and the Project Leader from Ukraine Natalia Fedorovych together with French Project Leader Marie Keirle outlined the main achievements of the Twinning Project.
In addition, participants discussed the next steps for the practical implementation of its results. Representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, French experts and the Project coordinator of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Serhiy Polyuk took part in the discussion.
The Chief Specialist of the Twinning Coordination Division of the Projects Management Unit of the Center Artem Takhtarov attended the event.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument.
