On January 21, 2015 at the premises of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the eighth Steering committee meeting of the Twinning project “Modernization of Legislative Standards and Principles of Education and Training in Line with the EU Policy in Life-long Learning” took place. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Metropolitan University College (Copenhagen, the Kingdom of Denmark) and the Federal Institute of Vocational Education and Training (Germany).
The goal of the project is capacity strengthening of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in effective implementation of the national qualification model of professional and technical training.
The Project Leader of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Pavlo Polianskyi in his welcome speech underlined the importance of the project performance outcomes implementation into educational system of Ukraine and its further adaptation to the EU standards. The Project Leader of the EU Member-States Consortium Susanne Gottlieb admitted the high level of interrelations between the Project partners and underlined significant activation of the Project activity in the context of the new draft Law of Ukraine “On Professional and Technical Training” development.
The participants of the meeting in the form of discussion summed up the project outcomes for the eighth reporting period and discussed the state of preparation for the final conference which is to take place in March, 2015. Furthermore the participants approved the Quarterly Report and agreed on the date for the next Steering committee meeting.
The Resident Twinnig Advisor Anni Ida Vest, the Head of the Department “Economic Cooperation, Social and Regional Development” of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Juana Mera Cabello, Project Coordinator for Education Sector of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Vira Rybak took part in the steering committee meeting.
The Head of the Divsion of International Coopeartion Projects of the Projects Management Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Artem Takhtarov attended the event.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument.
