On March 17, 2015 at the premises of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the steering committee meeting of the Twinning project “Modernization of legislative standards and principles of Education and Training in line with the EU Policy in Lifelong Learning” took place. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Metropolitan University College (Copenhagen, the Kingdom of Denmark) and the Federal Institute of Vocational Education and Training (the Federal Republic of Germany).
The goal of the project is capacity strengthening of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in effective implementation of the national qualification model of professional and technical training.
The Project Leader of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Pavlo Polianskyi in his welcome speech outlined the main achievements of the project which had been implemented while developing 2 new draft laws of Ukraine "On Education" and the "On Vocational Training" that are to facilitate the reform of vocational education in Ukraine in accordance with EU standards. General information regarding activities that took place during the reporting period was presented. The Head of "Education, Science, Information Society" Department of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Vira Rybak noted positive results of the project and expressed hope for guarantee of the long-term project impact and stability of the achievements. The Project Leader of the EU Member-States Consortium Susanne Gottlieb admitted the high level of interrelations between the project partners and underlined positive achievements of the project and its impact on the further development of vocational education in Ukraine.
In the format of discussion all the participants summarized the results of the project during the ninth (final) reporting period and approved without any objection quarterly report.
The Resident Twinning Advisor Anni Ida Vest, the Junior Project Leader Kristin Eberhardt, Short-Term Experts from the Kingdom of Denmark Rene Nordin Bloch and Soren Berg Knudsen as well as the Short-Term Expert from the Federal Republic of Germany George Hanf took part in the steering committee meeting.
The Senior Consultant of the Projects Management Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the EU Inna Belobratova attended the event.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument.
