On May 25 – 26, 2015, the two-day workshop “Current Issues of Gender Policy” that was organized by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine in cooperation with the RADA Program was held. The aim of the event was to increase the capacity of employees of central executive authorities by the implementation of the gender approach in public policy.

During the workshop the participants had the opportunity to discuss the main provisions of the gender policy in the context of personnel services activity; however the possible ways and mechanisms for gender parity in Ukraine were presented. According to the results of the event the proposals for action plans of the government regarding implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men” were developed.

Within the workshop the plenary meetings and practical work in small groups were held. Such kind of activity was useful and promoted the exchange of experiences and the best practices on the implementation of gender policy in the civil service.

Representatives of the commissions on gender issues of Verkhovna  Rada of Ukraine, representatives of central executive bodies and government authorities of Ukraine attended the event. From the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the standards of the European Union the Head of the Industry Expertise Sector Kateryna Tkachenko took part in the workshop.
