On May 21, 2015 at the premises of the State Service of Ukraine forGeodesy, Cartography and Cadastre of Ukraine (hereinafter – the Stategeocadastre) the fifth steering committee meeting of the Twinning Project “ Assistance in Development of an Open and Transparent Agricultural Land Market” took place.
The project is aimed at supporting Ukraine in the development of an open and transparent agricultural land market in line with the best EU practices, through the improvement of the agricultural land market management and the framework of public land administration.
The Head of the Stategeocadastre Maksym Martyniuk and the Project Leader from the Kingdom of Netherlands Niek Bosmans in their opening remarks presented the main achievements of the Twinning Project, expressed their readiness to support its further realization and also underlined the high level of interrelation between the partners.
During the meeting all the participants considered and approved the Minutes of the Fourth Steering Committee Meeting as of February 24, 2015. The main achievements of the Project realization, in particular the state of development of a single comprehensive Strategy for Agricultural and Rural Development in for 2015-2020 in accordance with the Strategy for Sustainable Development “Ukraine – 2020” were touched upon. The Resident Twinning Advisor Stefan Verbunt presented the quarterly report, pointed out the key activities and events that had taken place during the last quarter period within the framework of 3 components of the Project. Furthermore, there were presented the main recommendations regarding the enhancing the efficiency of functioning of agricultural sector of Ukraine. The Resident Twinning Advisor Counterpart Dmytro Makarenko underlined the main achievements and presented the practical aspect of the Twinning Project implementation in Ukraine. He also reported on the scheduled events and priority directions of further activity. The participants of the event agreed on the date of the next steering committee meeting for the Twinning Project.The Junior Project Leader of the Federal Republic of Germany Katja Dells, the Junior Project Leader of the Republic of Lithuania Wilma Dauhalyene, the Head of Sector for agriculture, food security and land reform of EU Delegation to Ukraine Enzo Damiani took part in the steering committee meeting.
The Head of the Division of International Cooperation Projects of the Projects Management Unit of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Inna Belobratova attended the event.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument.
