On June 23, 2015 at the premises of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine the meeting on selection of the project proposals from the EU member-states who expressed their wish to cooperate with the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in the process of the Twinning Project implementation “Support to State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in the Development of Integrated Border Management system” was held.
The Project implementation presupposes facilitation of effective integrated border management that will establish greater security at international borders, diminish cross border crime and provide the relevant balance between security and trade facilitation.
During the meeting some proposals regarding prospective cooperation within the framework of the Twinning project which had been received from the consortium of the countries including Finland and Hungary, the Polish Republic, the Lithuanian Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany were reviewed.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Christof Weil, Director General of Finnish Customs Antti Hartikainen, representatives of the Embassy of Poland in Ukraine and the Embassy ofLithuanian Republic in Ukraine, State Fiscal Service of Ukraine and the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine took part in this event.
Senior consultant of the Unit of Administrative Reform Projects, SIGMA and CIB of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Viktoriia Nazarenko attended the meeting.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on October 6, 2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the NAUCS is considered to be the national coordinator of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant regulatory acts.
