On July 8, 2015 the Steering Committee meeting of the Twinning project “Institutional Support to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on Increasing the Operation Performance and the Competitiveness of Rail Transport in Ukraine” was conducted.
This project is implemented in joint cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Public Works of Spain and Ministry of Transport, Construction and Marine Economy of Poland.
The Project Leader from Spain Matilde Fernandez Balbin welcomed all the attendees and described the activities havin been implemented within the framework of last reporting period. Deputy Project Leader Evhen Kravtsov emphasized the importance of mutual work of European and Ukrainian experts regarding improvement of rail transport work.
The participants of the event discussed the results of European experts mission to Ukraine that took place on April 05, 2015 – July 04, 2015. The important issue to discuss was the adjustment of tariff policy to the EU standards and actual implementation of appropriate directives of European Parliament and Council.
The Resident Twinning Adviser Jose Samino presented the quarterly report, pointed out the key activities and events that had taken place during the last quarter period.
Junior Project Leader Paweł Kopczyński,Deputy Junior Project Leader Ireneusz Majcher, Transport Sector Manager.Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Svitlana Didkivska, attended this Meeting.
Senior consultant of the Unit of Administrative Reform Projects, SIGMA and CIB of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Viktoriia Nazarenko took part in this meeting.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument.
