Coordination Meeting Regarding Approval of the Draft Action Plan of SIGMA Programme in Ukraine for July, 2015-December, 2016

On July 24, 2015 the Coordination Meeting regarding approval of the draft Action Plan of SIGMA Programme in Ukraine for July, 2015-December, 2016 was conducted.

On performing tasks envisaged by the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, theAction Programme of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Strategy for Sustainable Development“Ukraine – 2020” the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on Strengthening Cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the OECD aimed at Deepening Cooperation was sighed.

The main goal of this meeting was to discuss the proposals to the draft Action Plan of SIGMA Programme in Ukraine, provided by the stakeholders in such areas as regulatory reform, state budget management, development and coordination of public policy, public administration reform, providing services to business and citizens, territorial administration and regional development, justice institutions and government procurement.

According to the results of Coordination Meeting the Draft Action Plan of SIGMA Programme in Ukraine for July, 2015-December, 2016 was taken as a basis.

Representatives of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service and Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union took part in the event.

For reference: the SIGMA programme (Support for Improvement in Governance and Management) – is considered to be one of the most prestigious analytical centers of the European Union. It was organized with the initiative of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union. The goal of the programme establishment was to support the countries of the Central and Eastern Europe in improving the system of public administration. The programme above mentioned plays the key role in preparation the candidate countries to the European Union accession.
