On July 15, 2015 at the premises of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine the meeting on selection of the project proposals from the EU member-states who expressed their wish to cooperate with the the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine in the process of the Twinning Project implementation “Assistance with implementation of SPS (sanitary and phytosanitary measures) commitments under the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement” was held.

The overall objective of the project is to assist to the Government of Ukraine in achieving approximation and harmonization of SPS measures with the EU and the implementation and enforcement of the legal basis in order to develop greater opportunities for Ukrainian producers of food and agricultural products for providing trading relations with the EU.

During the meeting the proposal regarding prospective cooperation within the framework of the Twinning project which had been received from the consortium the Lithuanian Republic and Italy were reviewed.

Deputy DirectorState Food and Veterinary Service Vidmantas Paulauskas,Head of  Centre of the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute Alberto Mancuso, representatives of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine and Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine took part in the event.

Senior consultant of the Unit of Administrative Reform Projects, SIGMA and CIB of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Viktoriia Nazarenko attended the meeting.

For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on October 6, 2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the NAUCS is considered to be the national coordinator of the institutional building instrument TAIEX and CIB Programme according to the relevant regulatory acts.
