On September 10, 2015 at the premises of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine the fifth steering committee meeting for the Twinning Project “Support to Development Process in the State Statistics Service of Ukraine with the Objective of Enhancing its Capacity and Production” was held. The Project is implemented in cooperation with the Statistics Service of Denmark and National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies of France.
The main objective of the Project is the implementation of statistical methods and standards of the EU in Ukraine including the collection, processing and dissemination of statistical information. Furthermore, within the Project implementation the European experts supported the improvement of statistics production and advance training for specialists of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
The Project Leader from Ukraine Natalia Vlasenko in her opening speech told about the study visit to the Statistics Service of Lithuania which facilitated the State Statistics Service of Ukraine in development of methodology for sample surveys and also presented the planned activities for the next reporting period.
The coordinator of the Project from the EU Delegation to Ukraine Philippe Bertrand spoke about planned activities concerning the preparation of specifications for future tender for web-portal.
The participants discussed the status of achievement of the project planned results and the results of expert missions that took place during February –May, 2015. The date of the closure event day was agreed on.
The RTA Irina Bernstein, MS Project Leader from Denmark Jesper Ellemose Jensen, Junior Project Leader from France Dominique Francoz took part in this meeting.
Senior consultant of the Unit of Administrative Reform Projects, SIGMA and CIB of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Viktoriia Nazarenko attended the meeting.
For reference: since 2005 according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 06.10.2005 № 1424/2005 «The Issue on Provision of the Twinning Programme Implementation in Ukraine» the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service directs and coordinates the activity on preparation and implementation the Twinning Programme in Ukraine. Moreover the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the national coordinator of implementation of the institutional building instrument.
