On December 08, 2015 the ninth Steering Committee meeting of the Twinning project for the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine “Institutional Support to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on Increasing the Operation Performance and the Competitiveness of the Rail Transport in Ukraine” was held.
The project is aimed at enhancing the operation performance and competitiveness of rail transport of Ukraine through improving the rail sector state governance and commercial management structure. MS Project Leader Matilde Fernandez Balbin welcomed the participants of the meeting and briefly pointed out the main activities provided during the last reported period.
The participants discussed the results of the mission of Sort Term Experts to Ukraine, that were held during the period of October 05 till December 01, 2015 and the importance of the recommendations provided by these experts regarding the new approach of infrastructure charges and long-term strategy for implementation of the competitiveness among the players in the rail sector in Ukraine according to the EU Directives.
In this meeting took part the Junior Project Leader Pawel Kopczynski and Deputy Junior Project Leader Ireneusz Maicher, BC Deputy Project Leader representative Evgen Kravtsov, RTA Counterpart Olexandr Fedorenko and other representatives of Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. From the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine the Sector Manager on Transport Svitlana Didkivska attended the meeting.
The Senior Consultant of the Twinning Coordination Sector of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union Olesia Voroniuk took part in the meeting.
