On October 20, 2016 at the premises of Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine the forum “NATO and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine” for civil servants from government authorities who are responsible for NATO cooperation took place.
NATO Sector Manager of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleksii Genchev, Head of the NATO-Ukraine Civic League, moderator Sergii Dzherdzh opened the event and presented welcoming remarks.
Adviser to the Office of the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Vladyslav Yasniuk also welcomed the participants and underlined that a series of other seminars related to Euro-Atlantic integration issues would be planned.
Forum NATO-Ukraine was divided into three sessions; each session was dedicated to separate NATO-related issue and presupposed open discussions. Issues regarding the history of creation and structure of the Alliance, current NATO political program, contemporary relations between Ukraine and NATO: military and non-military cooperation, normative and legal support of the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine were presented during the event, as well as outcomes of Warsaw Summit were discussed.
On behalf of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union the Deputy Head of the Projects Management Unit Yuliia Vasylko took part in the event.
The lecturers of the event were: Perepelytsia Hryhorii –professor of the Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Director of Foreign Policy Institute under the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine,Petro Kanana– chief of Cooperation with International Organizations Unit, International Cooperation Department, Defence Policy, Strategic Planning and International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Defence of Ukraine;Valentyn Levchyk – Deputy Head of Main Directorate of Military Cooperation and Peacekeeping Operations, General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,Ivan Zayets–Former Head of Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, national Deputy of Ukraine of the previous convocation;Oleh Kokoshynskyi– Vice President of the Atlantic Council of Ukraine; Heorhii Tolkachov –chief of NATO Unit, International Security Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; VictoriaTsiyemenite –Deputy Director of NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Ukraine; Alexander Vinnikov– the Head of NATO Representation to Ukraine, Director of NATO Liaison Office; Ann-Kristin Bjergene - the Deputy Head of NATO Liaison Office; Ove Urup-Madsen- Programme Manager of the NATO-Ukraine PDP.
