The First Module of Information and Introductory Course on NATO Activity and European Integration Public Policy in Ukraine

On March 22–23, 2017 on the basis of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv the first module of information and introductory course on European integration was held. The course is organized with the support of the NATO-Ukraine Professional Development Programme and under the patronage of Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. It is aimed at raising awareness of civil servants on the main issues of public policy and NATO Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

First Vice-Rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Oleh Zakusylo, NATO-Ukraine PDP HQ Co-ordinator Marcin Koziel and NATO-Ukraine PDP Manager Ove Urup-Madsen took part in the opening of the module.

The first module of the course attended about 100 participants. It included the lectures on the “Democratic Civil-Military Relations in Principles and Practices”, “Responsibility to Control — Parliament and Civil Society in the information age”, “Good Governance and Integrity of Security and Defense”, “Understanding NATO Standards and Policies” as well as “Defense Resource Management”.

this course includes 9 modules on democratic civilian control over security and defense sector, defense and budget planning, gender equality, crisis management and protection critical infrastructures, strategic communications and legal issues of NATO-Ukraine cooperation.
