Training of the Programme “Development of Citizenship Competences of Civil Servants” continues

On April 25, 2017 at the premises of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service the training seminars of the Second Module of the Programme “Development of Citizenship Competences of Civil Servants” for the second group of representatives of higher education institutions, who are responsible for training masters under the specialty on Master’s Programme for the “Public Management and Administration”, was started.

Leader of the Swiss–Ukrainian Project “Development of Citizenship Competences in Ukraine” (DOCCU), Head of the Department on Education Management of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Nataliia Protasova welcomed the participants of the event.

During the first training day the social and psychological aspects of adult education, in particular the ways and methods of the education for democratic citizenship and human rights education, were discussed; features of education materials selection on the education for democratic citizenship and human rights education as well as development of citizenship competences of civil servants and local self-government officials were determined; criteria for evaluating teacher effectiveness also were defined. Furthermore, the developed methods on the education for democratic citizenship and human rights education for development of citizenship competences of civil servants and local self-government officials were presented.

The Swiss–Ukrainian Project of International Technical Assistance “Development of Citizenship Competences in Ukraine” (DOCCU) is implemented in Ukraine within the framework of the Swiss Cooperation Strategy for Ukraine for 2015–2018, in particular within the direction “Local Self-Government and Public Services”. The Swiss Confederation is the donor of the Project, and the Zurich University of Teacher Education (Switzerland) is the main performer of the Project. The National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service is the beneficiary of the Project.
