Training “Public Speaking Skills” within the course “100 Champions”

Training “Public Speaking Skills” within the course “100 Champions” was held.

On February 17-18, 2020, as part of the annual course on topical issues of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration policy “100 Champions”, training on “Public Speaking Skills” was held for government officials responsible for Euro-Atlantic integration.

The event was organized by the NATO-Ukraine Programme for the Professional Development of Civilian Personnel in the Security and Defence Sector jointly with the Government Office for Coordination on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The purpose of the training was to acquaint participants with performances and their types, characteristics of modern listeners, the main elements of preparation for successful performances, algorithms for overcoming stress in emotionally tense situations, as well as to making practical exercises to develop relevant skills.

During the first day of the event, the head and trainer of the development and coaching program for ESLEAD leaders Olena SERGEYEVA presented to the participants the main components of success in public speeches, the step-by-step process of preparing and implementing a specific presentation, approaches to audience and context analysis, and persuasion and visualization.

The second day of the training was dedicated to personalization techniques and issues of managing anxiety and emotions during the performance. In addition, participants considered interactive methods and typical challenges in interacting with the audience.

The final stage of the training was the presentation of own speech to consolidate the acquired knowledge and practical development of relevant skills.

As a result of the event, all participants received certificates.

On behalf of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Service to the Standards of the European Union the Head of the Division of International Cooperation Projects of the Projects Management Unit Anatolii Sopilka attended the event.

The aim of the course is to raise the professional level of government officials responsible for Euro-Atlantic integration, which requires mastering the knowledge and skills that are necessary for the successful preparation and implementation of annual national programs and other strategic documents in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration.
